Dr. Schultz and Mrs. Schultz were here!

Reunion@Shin-miura in Tsukiji on 5 June, 2001

Dr. Schultz and Mrs. Schultz were here in Japan. It is 17 years since I saw them last time!!

Photos below were taken at the restaurant, Shin-miura which is famous for Mizu-taki, Japanese boiled chicken. We ate a lot and had a very good time. I am sure we were 20 lb. heavier when we left the restaurant. I suppose Dr. Schultz will try to cook "zo-sui," Japanese porridge as he was trying to learn how to fix it there.

Dr. Schultz is leaving for Europe and Mrs. Schultz is going back home on 6 June. I miss them a lot and I hope to see them and all my friends in the U.S. soon.

Keiko

Dr. Schultz holds the lightest umbrella Keiko has ever found in Japan. (less than 7oz)

Keiko's friend, Satoru asked Keiko if this is a right size for Dr. Schultz as he is very tall. Satoru said, "Why don't you buy a towel for him just in case he gets wet in the rain using this umbrella?"

(Ooops! I made the second picture a little too small.)

As a result, you see Dr. Schultz holding a towel with his name "Don" ("どん") in Japanese. Of course, Mrs. Schultz has hers with "Heidi" ("はいじ") in Japanese.

Mrs. Schultz holds a cosmetic cape. (This is not a table napkin for your information.)

It was announced that Keiko has become an official IMC member. She proudly holds the proof.

Satoru is an assistant professor of marketing in Niigata University, a national university located in the northern part of Japan. He knew what Agora means and he said that he learnt it in junior high school! He is also a Godzilla expert and asked Mr. Schultz if the Godzilla she saw was an authentic Japanese Godzilla!

Keiko was given a mission to find Godzilla in Hibiya, Tokyo in order to verify what Mrs. Schultz found in that area. According to her husband, no one else saw it...

We did the search on the web using keywords, "Hibiya" and "Godzilla" and found him!!! (There were more than 700 related pages on the web!)

Here he is! Godzilla in Hibiya. To my surprise, copy of this stature was on sale. Guess how much. It was \2,000,000.-($16,666.- approx.)
